Relative clauses

Hopefully I have a great understanding of what relative clauses is all about. I have used educational websites that teach this grammar topic, afterwards I went to the practical section from those websites manage it. Now it´s my turn to explain it clearly what it is about.

Relative clauses are used to give additional information about something without starting another sentence. When combining sentences using relative clauses, my text becomes more fluent and I can avoid repeating common words that I have already used.

Common pronouns that are used in relative clauses are: who, which, whose, where, whom, that.

Relative are divided into two attributes:

  • Defining relative clauses
This attributes are used to give additional information defining a general term or expression.

Examples:
  1. Do you know the guy who is talking to my friend?
  2. There are cool machines that do the job for us.

  • Non Defining relative clauses
These are used to add extra information and can be deleted without changing the meaning of the sentence

Examples:
  1. This guy whom I met yesterday, is very cool.
  2. The plane that flew near the mountains was big.

Out of class contributions

Last week I read interesting articles on CNBC and from all of them one drew my attention, it was  about the inventions that could change the world and that reminded me about what I have read about two weeks ago on the book. I couldn't find the information on the web about future inventions that the book talked about but I found out very funny, like the one survey recently named the toilet as the greatest invention ever and the bicycle. That was on the past but now the future is what innovators must think what they could do to improve the humans life. Hopefully there are great inventions that have been created and benefit a lot to people whose disability can't be restored naturally.

Here is a video I made about it that talks about the top 10 inventions that innovators and entrepreneurs  have created for the good of humanity;  this is what I do on my own to improve my knowledge and skills of speaking. I hope you like it and share to everyone.

How I spend my time

Time is valuable nowadays due to the competitiveness that the society faces around the, and I can feel the pressure how the education in this country is fast that I can't even have time to review except at midnight, when I feel tired and bored.

My time is being spent at the university, where I stay for three hours in a class and hear the teacher talk about how things should be done.
Other thing that I do is to push my projects up and I roughly spend five hours doing them, and the reason is because the trend moves to the technology and innovation and that's something I have to manage well.

I consider my time as a marathon now, for some people that would be boring and I know that but I keep motivated and energetic; thinking that this effort of learning, making stuff on my own, would lead to an easier life.

One thing that I need to change is to stop wasting time when it comes to thinking something different that is not related to what I am doing and doing things right away instead of playing the guessing game, time is very valuable.

Finally, the things that I do are for my own good and that is going to be one time in my life, besides doing projects on my own, I need to balance my lifestyle, such as going out and running, walking, talking with "friends" and watching / listening to video music; and I know that there are things that I want to have, but I need to do something I have never done before to get what I want to have, but I need to do something in education and practice a lot to manage it.
